Dianne M. Weaver

Born in Tacoma to Daniel and Lillian Mounts, our beloved mother spent her childhood in DuPont and attended Clover Park schools, graduating with the Class of 1957. A proud Cougar, she earned her degree from Washington State University in 1961 and soon set off for Washington, D.C., where she trained to serve at the U.S. Embassy in Brasília, Brazil.

It was there that she met a young Marine and embassy guard, Cpl. John M. "Jack" Weaver. The connection was instant, and their story unfolded quickly. They were married in Mexico City in 1963 and began their journey together.

Settling in Montesano, Mom dedicated her early years there to raising their three children. Once the youngest was in grade school, she returned to the workforce, beginning with the Montesano Community Schools. In the mid-1970s, she joined Grays Harbor College, where she taught an office management program. Never one to do things halfway, she earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound in 1982-while working full-time and raising a family. She went on to teach business and computing courses at GHC until her retirement in 1996, when she relocated to Olympia.

Mom had a strong and determined presence, always expecting the best from those she believed were capable of more. That same strength remained with her until her final days.

She is deeply missed by her son, Timothy (Lea Ann) Weaver of Montesano, WA; daughters Susan (Bryan) Alexander of Centralia, WA, and Jill Reid of Sitka, AK; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jaimie, Cody, Jennifer, Zachary, Samuel, Jacob, Megan, Jackson, Lucas, and Bryson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother, John Mounts of DuPont.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, John M. Weaver, and her son-in-law, John D. Reid.

Mom's legacy lives on in her family, her friends, her students, and the many lives she touched with her intelligence, drive, and heart.
