Dilip Patel, 70, of East Brunswick, New Jersey passed away peacefully on August 16 th ,

2025 surrounded by his loving family. He had courageously battled Parkinson's disease

for many years and ultimately succumbed to complications from pneumonia.

Born in 1955 in Nairobi, Kenya to Maganbhai and Gangaben Patel, Dilip was the

second youngest of eight children. He spent his early childhood in Nairobi before

moving to Mogri, India, his mother's ancestral village, where he attended school and

shared countless days of laughter and companionship with his younger brother,

Kishore.

On 28 Jan 1984, Dilip moved to London, UK, where he worked at British Rail and began

building a new life. It was in India in 1985 that he married his beloved wife of 40 years,

Jagruti. Together they made their home in Neasden, London, and welcomed two

children: Amisha (1986) and Amit (1988).

In the early 1990s, Dilip and his family immigrated to the United States, settling first in

Lawrenceville, NJ and later in East Brunswick, NJ, where Amisha and Amit grew up

surrounded by the warmth of extended family.

Dilip dedicated the majority of his professional life to Air India, serving as the Cargo

Manager at Newark Airport. He began working there in 2004 and retired in 2024. His

work was not only his career but also his true passion; even after retirement, he

delighted in tracking Air India flights.

Of all his roles, being a grandfather brought Dilip the greatest joy. He was blessed with

his granddaughter Simran in April 2024, and grandson Liam in May 2025. Known to

them lovingly as Dada, he cherished every moment with them-his pride, his joy, and

the wind beneath his wings.

Dilip is preceded in death by his parents Maganbhai and Gangaben, his father-in-law

Krushnakant Patel, and his siblings Ramanbhai, Madhuben, and Maheshbhai. He is

survived by his devoted wife Jagruti, his daughter Amisha, her husband Brian and their

son Liam, his son Amit and his daughter Simran, and by his siblings Kusumben,

Sureshbhai, Maltiben and Kishore, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended

family who loved him dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Franklin

Memorial Park in Franklin Park, New Jersey.

Dilip will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to his family, and his

unwavering love for aviation. His legacy of kindness, resilience, and dedication will live

on through the many lives he touched.

My deepest condolences to J Aunty, Amit and Amisha. Dillip Kaka was someone whom I grew close to from a young age. His days in London with me being only a kid were both memorable and special. These memories I will always hold close (especially taking me swimming and rewarding me with a Mars bar afterwards). Even later in life as time passed on he continued to always offer me a hug and a big smile whenever we met. I feel that Dillip kaka always showed kindness in any conversations that I saw him hold and he always enjoyed laughing. A warrior - went from a young man in London to go on and fulfil the American dream. RIP Dillip Kaka..
