Dimitri Charles Andrew Kondas, 49, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend went to his eternal home in heaven on July 17, 2025. Dimitri was born in April 1976 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Owen Valley High School in 1994. He studied environmental science at Indiana University Bloomington graduating in 1998 and completed his masters from the IU Kelly School of Business in 2006. He worked for several companies providing environmental health and safety, consulting, and sustainability services throughout his career.
In June of 2000, Dimitri married Amy Anne Blackwell. Together, they spent their time raising three sons. Guiding and watching his children grow up was Dimitri’s greatest passion. He also enjoyed playing the flute, cooking family recipes, watching movies and IU basketball, studying the Bible, socializing with friends and neighbors, and traveling to new places with his family. Dimitri focused on the good in those he met seeing everyone's potential. His smile and laugh will be remembered.
Many words come to mind when family and friends think of Dimitri—loving, faithful, gentle, fun, curious, considerate, positive, helpful, and joyful are just a few.
He was preceded in death by his father Thom Kondas. He is survived by his wife Amy; their 3 children Christopher, Isaiah, and Ethan; his mother and stepfather Janet and John Wiese; his stepmother Stephanie, and 2 brothers Dorian and Damian. His extended family and in-laws as well as many friends also survive to remember him.
Dimitri believed in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Through our faith, we have the hope and reassurance that we will one day spend eternity together.
