Mrs. West, 85, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Dollie was known for her generous, compassionate, and kind heart. In her younger days, she loved hunting, camping, and fishing with her family. She loved tending to her flower beds and working in her yard. She especially enjoyed family gatherings during the holidays, hosting Easter and Christmas in her home each year. She was truly one of a kind-her heart was full of love, understanding, forgiveness, kindness, and encouragement. Her care extended not only to her family and friends, but also to countless young individuals who had gone astray and needed help in many different ways. No one ever left her house hungry; she was known for her cooking and for making sure everyone around her was well fed. Most of all, she loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest West, her son, James Michael Delaney; her parents, Leonard Rogers, Sr. and Lillie Della Rogers; three brothers, Charles Rogers, Leonard Rogers, Jr., and Cecil Rogers; one sister, Ruby Funk; one granddaughter, Emily Dauzart; one great grandson, Skyler Delaney; and the father of her children, James E. Delaney.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Greg Delaney (Dolly) of Pollock; two daughters, Lavanda Dickerson of Pineville, and Kay Robinson (Scott) of Hineston; four sisters, Barbara Whitehead of Bentley, Judy Turner of Pollock, Elizabeth Ault (Danny) of Houston, Texas, and Karen "Pud" Rogers of Pollock; two stepsons, Ernie Ray West (Lisa) and Jesse West (Carroll); one stepdaughter, Drema (Pat) Neves; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Troy "Butch" Rogers, Scott Robinson, Todd Tullos, Timothy Delaney, James "Lil Mike" Delaney, and Derek Delaney.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and deep appreciation to Compassionate Care Hospice for their exceptional care during her time of illness. A very special thank you to her nurse, Savanna, whom we all grew to love and who became like family. Her endless time, care, and devotion to Mom touched our lives more than we can ever express.
