Dolores Marie Bosman, a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Dolores lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
Born on May 20, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, to Russell and Helen (née Cull) McKim, Dolores was raised in the Catholic faith, which remained a cornerstone of her life. She attended St. David's Catholic School in Detroit and went on to marry the love of her life, Robert Bosman, on October 14, 1950. Together, they raised three beloved children and shared decades of marriage until Robert's passing on February 5, 2019.
Dolores was a proud business owner, managing three businesses in her lifetime, The Li'L Dutch Pantry, Cook's Lamp Shop and Dolly's Shady Ladies, where she found great joy in helping customers. Her warm personality and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She retired in 1994 and in her later years, embraced a well-deserved chapter of adventure and relaxation. In just a few years, Dolores and Robert traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, Nova Scotia, the Caribbean, and Europe. Regular trips to Arizona, Texas, New York City and Florida added to her list of cherished memories.
She and Robert made their retirement home in Crawford County and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mancelona. In more recent years, they resided in Macomb County and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ray Township.
Dolores also found joy in the simple pleasures of life - bowling, shopping, boating, flower arranging, playing cards and dining with friends were among her favorite pastimes. But above all, she considered her most important roles to be that of a wife, daughter, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving children, Claudia Ross, Robert (Cyndi) Bosman, and Marcia (Brian) Connolly; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren with another on the way. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Bosman; her granddaughter, Margaret Bosman; her parents, Russell and Helen McKim; and her sister, Betty Boike.
The family wishes to thank the loving, professional staff at Vista Springs Washington Place Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice for their tender, compassionate care.
