Dolores Connolly died peacefully Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 95 years young. She was born in New York City to Edward and Mae Malloy. Dolores worked as a library clerk in the Commack schools and the public libraries of Commack and Jericho. She was a traveler and a reader. Dolores was an active member of the GCHS Mercy League, and she volunteered for Catholic Charities in Hicksville for many years. Dolores was a devout Catholic and was proud of her Irish heritage.
Dolores will be missed by her daughter and family, Marianne and Scott, Cristen and Niraj, Ellen and Katya, Ryan and her beloved great grandchildren. She was the loving sister of Anne Brennan, sister in law of Joan Connolly and Marilyn Malloy. Dolores is also survived by twenty caring nieces, nephews and their families.
Dolores was predeceased by James, her husband of thirty seven years, her daughter Joan and son in law, Dominick. Her brothers Edward, Gerald and John preceded her in death as well as five nieces and nephews.
Her family thanks the staff of Crimson Ridge Living and Hamilton Manor Nursing Home for their care during her years living in Rochester.
Her celebration of life will take place on Sunday (January 26th) 2 to 6 PM at Thomas F Dalton Funeral Home, 47 Jerusalem Ave. Hicksville. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Bridget's Church, 85 Post Ave, Westbury; Monday (Jan 27th) at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery. Toast Dolores with your favorite beverage, perform an act of kindness or donate to a charity of your choice in her honor.
