Tupelo, Mississippi 38804).
Dolores, affectionately known to most people as Mama Dee, graced this world with her presence on September 04, 1936, in
Batesville, Mississippi, as one of the three children born to the late William Dugger and Annette Nelson Dugger.
Dee spent many decades working across the United States as a Right of Way Agent before retiring and enjoying her golden years of life. After her retirement and alongside her children, she co-owned and operated the Clay Canvas. Through the years, while operating her art supply and pottery store, she touched many lives and developed many new friendships. The most notable friendship she developed was that of the Ole Miss Softball Team; Dee made her claim to fame by throwing the first pitch as the Lady Rebels took the diamond to start the game.
Aside from her love for the business she ran, this lady who always had a smile on her face lived a very active life before her health began to decline. Dee was a self-taught artist who specialized in oil paintings and portraits. She was also an avid collector of rocks, fossils, and crystals, often adventuring through terrains of all kinds to find unique, organic creations. Although she enjoyed the pursuit of collecting, she enjoyed the memories made even more. While searching the Mojave Desert in California for unique finds on a hot day, she claimed that Big Foot chased her, quickly gathered her excavations, and made it back to the vehicle before the burly figure caught her.
Once her health slowed the adventures that life had to offer, she kept up with society and her beloved church, Andrews Chapel, through virtual means as an avid Facebook user.
Although this kind-hearted lady who exuded southern charm has departed from our presence, she has gone to rest in a place free from sickness and the sorrows of this world.
The loved ones that continue walking down the path of life in her absence include her two daughters, Cheryl Davis of
Water Valley, Mississippi; Christi (David) McMinn of Quebeck, Tennessee; one son, Duke Hussey of
Oxford, Mississippi; three grandchildren: Brandy Davis of
Courtland, Mississippi; Sarah (Robert) Wilson of
Doyle, Tennessee; Dave McMinn of Red Bank, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren: Brian Davis of Pope, Mississippi; Dalton Davis of
Batesville, Mississippi; Rowan Wilson of
Doyle, Tennessee; her sister, Claudette (Sam) Waits of Grenada, Mississippi; one brother, Bill Dugger of
Batesville, Mississippi; two beloved dogs, Buddy and Oliver.
Her parents, William Dugger and Annette Nelson Dugger, are among the loved ones who departed from this life before her.
