Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Charlotte Dacus, 77, passed away on September 12, 2025 at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, Mississippi. A visitation will be Monday, September 15th, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Parkway, Oxford, MS, 38655) with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Gossett officiating. Charlotte, fondly known as "CC" to her close friends and family, was born on October 29, 1947, in Booneville, Mississippi to the late Chester Lambert and the late Theadus Dodds Breedlove. She was a remarkable mother and grandmother who found pure joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her laughter and warmth created lasting memories that they will cherish forever. She was a devoted wife of 58 years and always spoiled her husband, making sure they enjoyed every moment together. Charlotte had a special talent for floral arranging and enjoyed arts and crafts. Antiquing with her husband on the weekends was also a fond past-time. Her love for college sports was a constant part of her life. Charlotte's heart was big enough to embrace everyone. She cherished her family and friends and took every opportunity to be with them, believing that gatherings and celebrations were meant to be shared. Her home was the center of family get-togethers, and she poured her heart into hosting each holiday with warmth and care. She took it upon herself to ensure that no one felt left out, always looking after her loved ones with tenderness. Charlotte's loving spirit will be deeply missed, and she will forever remain in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Watson Dacus, Sr. of Oxford, MS; her daughter, Paula Childress (Ricky) of Oxford, MS; her son, Marty Dacus of Lincolnton, NC; her sister, Bobbie Hester (Lynn) of Marion, AR; her sister-in-law, Susan Lambert of Booneville, MS; her stepbrother, Gary Breedlove of Booneville, MS; a grandson, Barrett Childress of San Antonio, TX; one granddaughter, Chloe Childress of Oxford, MS; and two nephews, Bryson Lambert of Booneville, MS and Chris Hester (Kim) of Coldwater, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Lambert and Theadus Dodds Breedlove, her brother, Johnny Mac Lambert, her stepfather, Carmon Breedlove, her stepbrother, Randall Breedlove and her stepsister, Charlotte Crystal. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Andrew's Church of Oxford (https://standrews.me/giving). The staff at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the family during this challenging season of life. Condolences may be expressed online on her Tribute wall at www.colemanfuneralhomeox.com.
