Dolores Libka Obituary
Dolores June Parfitt was born June 17, 1933, in Alpena to the late William and Evelyn (Boboltz) Parfitt. On May 10, 1952, she married Warren Libka. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2014. She loved their Hubbard Lake cottage, watching thousands of beautiful sunsets and hours and hours in the lake. Dolores enjoyed cooking, baking cinnamon rolls and bread, knitting, fishing (catching two pike 36" & 40" long), and camping. She crocheted afghans for each child, grandchild and some great grandchildren before her arthritis and memory wouldn't allow her to continue. Most of all, she loved caring for her family and home and raising the kids.
Surviving are her four children, Warren Jr. (Shelley) Libka, Patti (Gary) Parkham, Susan (Steve) McConnell, Mark (Amy) Libka; 10 grandchildren, Shauna Libka, Leigh Ann (Alan) Duncan, Danielle (Adam) Fort, Katie (Beau) Webb, Brian (Savanah Penrod) Parkham, Scott Parkham, Jeremy (fiancée MacKenzie Wirgau) McConnell, Cory McConnell, Darby Libka, Brooke Libka; 6 great grandchildren, Sobie, Britton, Annie, Beckham, Hudson, Theo; and brother, Richard (Barbara) Parfitt..
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hillman's Haven for the great care they provided mom over the past 15 months.
Visitation will take place Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Alpena from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Shipman officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
