Dolores Schweppe

Dolores Marie Krueger Schweppe, of Gurnee, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at The Bickford of Gurnee.
Dolores was born on August 31, 1935, in Oak Park, IL. She was the daughter of Walter and Eunice Krueger. She married Walter "Red" Schweppe on June 18, 1954. From the mid-1970s until 2000s, she worked as a library clerk at the Vill Park Public Library where she served the public and made many friends. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church (Lombard, IL) in her youth, Grace Lutheran Church (Villa Park, IL) during her adult life, and then St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Waukegan, IL) during retirement. She was a graduate of York Community High School Elmhurst, IL. Throughout her life, Dolores was the owner and friend of many dogs. She enjoyed reading, gardening, music and traveling, especially going on cruises with family.
Dolores is survived by her two children, Julie (Jay) and David (Lynne); five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (George), and her husband (Wally).
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois at 11a.m.
