DOMENIC A. SALATINO, 87, of Weirton, WV, passed at home Saturday May 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Domenic was born September 8, 1936 in Follansbee, WV, son of the late Dominick and Josephine Natale Salatino. He is also preceded in death by son, Daniel Salatino (2017); 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
Domenic was member of First Baptist Church in Weirton. He graduated from Follansbee High School in 1956 before joining the US Army; being stationed in Germany. After his military service, Domenic worked plant protection at Weirton Steel until retirement. Domenic was a member of Weirton Lodge No. 688 Loyal Order of Moose. He loved golfing with his "Over the Hill Gang" and cheering for Notre Dame and Steelers football. Domenic also had a green thumb and grew beautiful tomatoes and flowers. More than anything, Domenic loved spending time with his adoring family, who will truly miss him.
Domenic is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gala Lou Hooper Salatino; daughter, Luanne Wenzowski (Michael); daughter-in-law, Emily Salatino; grandchildren, Amber Salatino, Jonathan Salatino, Danielle Conlon (Christopher), Dr. Dana Lounder (Joseph), and Mark Tiberio (Katie Lynn); great-grandchildren, Scarlet Lounder, Domenic Lounder, and Marco Tiberio; and brother, Ralph Salatino (Jackie).
Visitation will take place Sunday May 19, 2024 from 2:00 pm until time of memorial service at 3:00 pm, at First Baptist Church, 307 Homewood Avenue, Weirton, WV, with Pastor Judith Bartlett-Tomes presiding. Military honors will follow, rendered by US Army and American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guards. Inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
