Domitillia "Dee" Agnes Kyrish was born in Helena, Texas on January 20, 1921, and went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2024.
Dee was a loving mother, wife, sister, and aunt and a friend who never hesitated to speak her mind. She grew up on a farm with a simple life of picking cotton, tending to the animals and all that farm life included. She always said that those were happy times because of her loving family. Since she was the oldest sibling in her family, she also took on more responsibility and work. Dee worked hard her entire life and never shied away from the work. She spent her life taking care of her five children and her home. She would hang her clothes to dry on the clothesline wearing her light jacket and bonnet all year round. Later, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, whom she loved very much and was so proud of. She loved to dance and even met her future husband, Anton, at a dance at the Kyrish homestead. For years and years, she and Anton would go to Martinez Social Club every Saturday night. They would meet with family and friends and polka all night. Even after she could not dance anymore, she dreamed of dancing.
Dee was preceded in death by her husband Anton Kyrish; son, Virgil Kyrish; three sisters, Justine Brenek, Ruth Prasek, and Lillian Bujnoch; and one brother Benny Janysek. She is survived by three sons, Anton Kyrish Jr, Michael Kyrish and Kenneth Kyrish and one daughter, Virginia Murphy and one sister, Lucy Waclawczyk, as well as nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Dee was a devoted Catholic and will find the peace that she deserves in heaven.
The family wants to thank St. Francis Nursing Home and the entire staff for their blessed and thoughtful care for our mother. Everyone took such great care of mom and she loved all of you.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, San Antonio, TX 78220 with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated by Fr. Jose Francisco Puente Flores at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Jerome Cemetery in China Grove St. Jerome Cemetery Corner of Real Rd and FM 1516, 78220 with reception following.
