Don Gray Biggs, 91, of Aubrey, TX, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 in Aubrey, TX. Don was born September 14, 1933 in Garland, TX to Robert Clyde and Bernice Lynn (Gray) Biggs. Don's family moved to the Green Valley community when he was very young. He attended Green Valley School before transferring to the TWU Demonstration School and later graduated from Denton High School in 1951. He went on to study Industrial Arts at North Texas College. At the age of 18, following the passing of his father, Don took over the family farm, growing corn while also working for a local roofing company. Don was a long time member of the Methodist Church. He was raised in the Green Valley Methodist Church and was active in the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF). It was there he met the love of his life, Nancy Sims. They married January 12, 1962 in Cole Chapel at the First Methodist Church in Denton and went on to raise two sons, Steve and David. He loved working on his 25 acre property, spending countless hours mowing, gardening, and caring for his cows. In the late 1970s, he and Nancy enjoyed square dancing with their sons and many friends from the community. His long career with the U.S. Postal Service began in the 1950s, substituting for George Bell in Aubrey before transferring to the Denton Post Office in 1958, where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 1998. Following his retirement from the Postal Service, he dedicated himself to caring for his beloved wife. After her passing in 2002, he returned to the workforce, joining Avis at DFW Airport, where he worked for another 12 years before finally retiring. Don is survived by his sons, Steve Biggs of Denton, TX and David Biggs and wife Sharon of Denton, TX; two nieces, Karen Brown of Burleson, TX and Tanya Dunbar of Dallas, TX; two nephews, Bob and Mitch Latham of Mansfield, LA. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bernice; wife, Nancy; three sisters, Jayne Latham, Cornelia Gooch, and Araminta Ramsey; and first cousin, Cookie Leach. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at First United Methodist in Aubrey, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
