Donald Ray Bridges, 78, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home on September 13th, 2025. He was born in Knoxville, TN Don was preceded in death by his father, Conard Bridges, and mother Mary Cummings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; his sons, Charles (Jamie) Bridges and Mark (Stephine Scruggs ) Bridges; his sisters, Dorothy Kosier, Donna Sims, and adopted sister Sandra Lee; three grandchildren, Carrie (Tim) Troyer, Jennifer (Chad) Kline, Benjamin (Jennifer) Bridges; great grandchildren, Curtis Kline, Charity Troyer, Logan Troyer, Rebecca Bridges, Madelyn Bridges, Josie Bridges; special cousin, Sam Marcum; special niece, Jacqueline Shipe; nieces Kim Hankins, Chasity Cagley, Kayla Cobb, Shelby Haraway; and many other special friends.
Don loved restoring old trucks and doing crossword puzzles in his spare time and he also served his community cemetery as a volunteer caretaker for twenty years. He was a diligent sheet metal worker at Y12 and X10 in Oak Ridge.
We would like to thank all the nurses from Clinch River and Dr. Rebecca Jackson, especially Zandra Anthony, for her outstanding care during Donald's final days.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 16th, from 5pm – 7pm at Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel. Funeral Service will follow. Pastor Darrell Hackworth will officiate. Graveside service will be the next day at 9am at Byrd's Chapel Cemetery.
