Don Gross, 77, of Parker Colorado passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at his home on December 19, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. We knew he felt our love throughout his 10 days in hospice spent facing west toward his favorite view of Pikes Peak from the comfort of his living room. Don was preceded in death by his father Paul and his mother Ludi. He is survived by Connie his wife of 44 years, son Austin (Megan), daughter Lindsey (Kenny), grandchildren River, Vada, Nova, twin brother Dave (Diane), nephews Aaron (Dee Dee), Ryan (Desiree), nieces Staci (GJ), Molly (Jon), brothers in law and other extended family members. Don's family, especially his children and grandchildren meant the world to him and were his greatest love and source of pride.
Don was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in "The Little Apple", Manhattan, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University (he loved his K-State Wildcats) and moved to Colorado (he loved the Denver Broncos) where he began his career as a business owner. He owned several liquor stores including Pyramid Liquors, Dry Creek Liquors and finally Cottonwood Wine and Spirits in Parker. Don loved his work and took great pride in caring for his customers, he knew most of them by name. Don also cared deeply for the well-being of his staff over the years and maintained close relationships with some well after retiring. Anyone who met Don was drawn to his friendly personality and liked him immediately.
Don was a kind, gentle, generous and loving man known for his legendary hugs. He held many titles, Loving Husband, Dad/Daddy, Bonus Dad, Uncle Don (UD), Brother, Coach and his grandchildren affectionately called him Papaw. Don's family and lifelong friends will greatly miss each one.
All are invited to a celebration of Don's life on Saturday January 20, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM at his home. 20374 E. Three Pines Ranch Pl. Parker, CO 80134
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that charitable contributions be made in Don's name to Brighton Hospice and Parkinson's Association of the Rockies.

Don was a client of mine for hair cuts at the Sheridan Locksmith in the 1970s. I met him before he and Connie were married.
As the years rolled on we talked about life, careers, families and being owners of our own businesses. In other words, we covered a lot of experiences.
He was alway SO organized. He knew when his last appointment was and when he wanted to return. This was the old days prior to computers.
Don rarely moved or canceled his appointments.
He loved Connie and was proud of her accomplishments.
Don was definitely a family man - enjoying his kids and super excited when the grandchildren arrived!
I will miss Don and our conversations during his haircuts!

I met Don when Connie was just starting out in the business and became our receptionist when Geneos was first starting out in 2002. Through the years Don attended many of the Christmas parties and was always gracious to greet you and give you a hug. A friend/co-worker - Shelley Tennell started working for Don at one of the liquor stores and said what fabulous person you were to work for. You were a family man and will be missed and you always treated me with respect - thank you.
