It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Don Heide, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 21, 2025, at the age of 89.
Don was a man whose love for life and those around him was felt deeply. Born in 1935, he spent his years working on the farm, building a legacy rooted in the values of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. A true farmer at heart, Don found great joy in the hours he spent on the farm, especially when he was behind the wheel of the combine. Those long, peaceful days in the fields, were some of the happiest of his life. Don's love extended far beyond his interests, he was a devoted husband, father to his children, and grandfather. Whether it was sharing stories from his youth, teaching them about life, or simply being there to lend a hand, Don's presence was always a source of comfort and love. His gentle spirit and contagious laugh will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who loved hard and gave even harder.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol Heide of Pomeroy; children, Valerie (Dustin) Bales of Pomeroy, Amy Fischer of Humboldt, Lisa Schenck of Sarasota, FL, Barbara (Vincent) McClelland of Keane Valley, NY; Grandchildren, Macey (Will) Friedrichsen, Morgan (Lamar) Bales, Samuel Fischer, Jackson Fischer, and Ava Fischer, Taylor (Peter) Wolanski, Megan McClelland, Janey McClelland, Zander McClelland; Great-Grandchildren, Zeke, Niko, Theo, Warner, Milena.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Magdalene Heide; uncle, Clarence Heide; wife, Jeanne Heide; daughter, Tricia Holeman; Janet Beddow.
