Don Perry Reynolds was born on November 10, 1941, in Pine Bluff, AR, to Marguerite and Roy Don Reynolds. He passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the age of 81, finally hearing the words he always longed to hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Perry was a kind and giving person who never met a stranger. He exemplified true gentlemanly qualities, and his gentle nature was evident in the way he treated others. Perry's love story began on December 16, 1962, when he married the love of his life, Barbara Lynn Bradley.
Perry was a graduate of White Hall High School, where he played quarterback for the football team. He furthered his education at the University of Arkansas, Monticello. Following his studies, Perry embarked on a fulfilling career at International Paper, where he worked as a journeyman pipefitter for 42 years. He was a dedicated member of the Pipefitter's Union.
Perry's faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a committed member of First Baptist Church in White Hall. He found solace and strength in his relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In his free time, Perry enjoyed reading the newspaper and staying informed about current events. He was a man of action and loved utilizing his hands to create beautiful things, whether it was crafting handmade gifts or even designing a set of wedding rings, which he shared with Barbara Lynn. He prioritized his physical well-being and was dedicated to staying in shape through regular exercise. Perry often found joy in tending to the yard or assisting neighbors with their own tasks, including mowing their lawns.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, his son Scott Reynolds, and his sister Barbara Ann Rensch.
Perry Reynolds will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a true gentleman. His kind and generous spirit touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and love that will be cherished forever.
Left behind to cherish his legacy is his beloved wife, Barbara Lynn Reynolds, who stood by his side throughout their journey. He is also survived by his daughters, Janet Guyer and her husband, Gary, and Karen Ferrell and her husband, Alvis. Perry's memory will be forever treasured by his grandchildren: Sara Marcum, Jessica Guyer, Rebecca (Nick) Prentice, and Ben (Krissy) Guyer. Additionally, he leaves behind great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life: Payton Marcum, Zoey Prentice, Joyce Carroway, Arlie Prentice, Everleigh Prentice, Travis Cuthbertson, and Jaxon Cuthbertson. Perry's love extended to numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, all of whom will hold his memory dear.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 3:00-4:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Perry's life will follow at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating the service. A private burial will take place at Hardin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Perry's memory to First Baptist Church of White Hall, honoring his commitment to his faith and community.
