Don Wayne Schultheis, a beloved figure in the community and a dedicated financial assistant, passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on November 13, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana, Don lived a life characterized by his commitment to service, both in his professional career and personal endeavors.
For 37 years, Don served as a financial assistant to the Dean at IUPUI, where he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering support for the academic community. A proud graduate of Indiana University, he cherished the opportunities his education afforded him and carried that pride throughout his career.
An honorably discharged military veteran, Don exemplified dedication not only in his professional life but also in his patriotic duty. His sense of duty extended to his community as a devoted member of Cornerstone Bible Church, where he found camaraderie and fulfillment in his faith.
Don's passion for sports was evident to all who knew him. He loved sharing this enthusiasm with friends and family, creating lasting memories around the games he cherished.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and family, embodied by his wife, Betty Schultheis, and their children, Greg (BJ) Schultheis and Stacy (David) Benge. Don great joy in the company of his grandchildren, Ross, Carter Schultheis, and Keiran Broadley, who brought light and laughter into his life.
He is predeceased by his brother, Dick Schultheis, as well as his parents, Leo and Dorothy Schultheis.
Funeral services will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, November 13th at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road. Friends are welcome to visit from 4:30 PM until the time of the service.
Don Wayne Schultheis will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering love for his family and community, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories and values that will carry on through those who were fortunate to know him.
