The son of Lawrence A. and Francis T. (Williams) Scott, he was born January 29, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico. Don attended school in Boise City, graduating with the Class of 1970, he then attended Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma graduating with an associate degree in 1976.
Don moved to Guymon and started Guymon Paint & Body, retiring in 2000. Don remained active in working with the Guymon Chamber of Commerce and was recognized as Citizen of the Year in 1992. Don was a true entrepreneur, assuming the risks of several business ventures.
Don was married to Stephanne Woertink on April 29, 2015 in Guymon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Trace Buttry and nephew, Larry Don Scott.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanne of the home; two daughters, Shayla and Shandy; step-sons, Bryton Allard and Terrence Watson; grandchildren, Shelby and Sammie; nieces, Roseanne Scott and Amy Crawford, and brother, Laurence Scott.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor David Player, Victory Memorial Methodist Church officiating.
The family request memorials to the Guymon Chamber of Commerce. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
Don will be greatly missed by all he loved and all who loved him.
