Don Lynn Snarr

Don Lynn Snarr, 76, passed away at home surrounded by family on October 29, 2024. He was born on March 24, 1948, in Sandy, Utah, the son of Raymond and Thora Snarr.
Don's family meant the world to him! He was blessed with his dear wife Kathy by his side for 57 years since they met and became best friends as teenagers. Together, they grew as they navigated the joys and trials life presented, always coming out the other end at each other's side. Don and Kathy were blessed with three children, Shelly, Bill and Shay.
Don had a love and passion for the outdoors. He made many memories with family and friends as he enjoyed camping, hunting and hiking. There are many memories of Don from those trips as he taught how to enjoy the outdoors. He loved being with his family and friends and looked for opportunities whenever possible to enjoy their company. Each of them have many memories of hunting trips and various outdoor excursions.
Don had a successful 37-year career with Kennecott Copper mine as a heavy equipment operator. Following his retirement, he found joy in keeping himself busy working at Herriman High School with the janitorial and grounds staff.
Don is survived by his loving wife and lifelong partner, Kathy; sons Bill and Shay (Lorrie); grandsons, Kaden, Easton and Nick; sister Janet Rogers as well as many nieces, nephews and friends of the boys who looked up to him. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter Shelly, parents, sister Eileen Snarr and Brother Ken Snarr.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location prior to the services beginning at 9AM. Interment and graveside services with Military Funeral Honors to follow in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
