Donald Ade, age 77, passed away suddenly at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Kane) Ade; children, Brian (Karen) Ade, Sandra (Michael) Guendling, and Kevin Ade; grandchildren, Joseph Guendling, Daniel Guendling, Ryan Ade, Sean Ade, and Brennan Ade; sister, Dorothy Phelan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents Norman and Lorretta (nee Haas) Ade and his siblings, Norman Ade, Russell Ade, and Lorretta Johnson.
Donald was a Police Officer for Chicago Police Department for 32 years prior to his retirement. After retirement he served the Orland Park Police department at a civilian capacity for 13 years. He was a proud graduate of Leo Catholic High School. He proudly served our country in the Illinois National Guard. Donald was also 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus and was a founding member of the St Michael the Archangel Council. He also served as a past president of the Orland Park Law Enforcement Organization (OPLEO). His greatest pride, above all else was his family. He loved them all dearly and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in all their activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating at Hudson Lake in Indiana. He was a caring man that will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for Donald will begin on Sunday, February 4, 2024 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road in New Lenox, from 3pm to 8pm. Services will continue the following day, Monday, February 5, 2024 with a brief visitation at the funeral home from 9am-10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi, 15050 South Wolf Rd in Orland Park at 11am. Donald will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre in Alsip.
