Donald Otto Anderson, 86 of Clermont, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union, Iowa. Donald was born July 6, 1938 to Burnell "Andy" and Ora (Fischer) Anderson in Postville, Iowa. He graduated with the class of 1956 from Postville High School.
On March 22, 1958, Donald was united in marriage with Rita Krambeer at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. He was a farmer for all of his life. Throughout the years, Donald worked at Falb Motor Company, Farm Bureau Insurance and Wisconsin Dairies.
Donald was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, playing cards, camping and fishing. He would often attend the Iowa State Fair, Mt. Pleasant Threshers and farm shows. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Donald are his wife, Rita Anderson of Clermont, Iowa; his children, Brian (Bonnie) Anderson of Postville, Iowa, Brent Anderson of Wapello, Iowa, Wendy Anderson of Cresco, Iowa and Wayne "Andy" (Linda) Anderson of Tripoli, Iowa; grandchildren, Drew (Katie) Anderson, Tonya (Alex) Vagts, Cameron (Rachelle) Sobolik and Cassie Sobolik; four great-grandchildren, Ellie and Evan Anderson and Banks and Jetson Vagts; his siblings, Judy (Don) Koenig of Wayne, Nebraska, Dean Anderson of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Dennis Anderson of Moscow, Iowa and Dave (Linda) Anderson of Postville, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Joyce Riggle of Duluth, Minnesota and Nancy (Ed) Engelhardt of Luana, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Donald in death were his parents, Burnell "Andy" and Ora Anderson; daughter-in-law, Sherry Anderson; brothers-in-law, Stanley Krambeer and Richard Riggle; sisters-in-law, Pat Anderson and Vickie Anderson; and parents-in-law, Arno and Helen Krambeer.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday April 11, 2025 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa with Pastor Karla Johnson as the Officiant.
Interment will follow in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
