Donnie was an avid lover of animals and nature, and a devoted fan of the Redskins.
He is survived by his mother, Melba P. Ayres; children, Isabelle Ayres, Ethan Ayres, and Lorelei Ayres; sister, Stephanie Mikels (Shane), and her children, Sean Mendoza (Alexis) and Kallista McMahan (Brett).
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2PM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Downtown Suffolk Chapel. A reception will be held following the service at his sister, Stephanie's house.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Humane Society, 412 Kings Fork Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434.
