Donald Wayne Beardsley

On December 9th, 2025, Donald "Don" W. Beardsley closed his eyes and followed his wife home to spend Christmas with her once more and for eternity.

Don was born to Raymond and Lila Beardsley on September 13, 1935 in Houston, Texas. This is where he spent his formative years hunting, fishing, and wandering the thickets and bayous, gaining a love for nature and the wild that would stick with him through his life. Later he would pass this love on to his children.

After graduating with a Master's degree from the University of Houston, he began his career in Exploration Geology for Chevron Oil.

On April 8th 1961, Don married Becky, and the two began a loving journey together that would last 64 years. Their path would take them through Roswell, NM, Houston, Oklahoma City, Denver, and Albuquerque. Along the way, they would raise two sons, Eric and Mark, and finally settle in Albuquerque, NM.

Don was a brilliant conversationalist, and never used his intellect to stand above those around him. He chose to use his gifts to lift others up and encourage. Humor was a gift that he used to lighten even the darkest moments.

His smile and laughter still shine beside his beautiful wife Becky, and his many dogs that join him in Heaven.

Don is survived by his sons Eric Wayne and Mark Donald, Mark's wife Darla,

Don's sister Sue, and her daughter Christi.
