In Loving Memory of Donald Edward Berecz
August 2, 1984 – July 12, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Donald Edward Berecz in Statesboro, Georgia, at the age of 40. Known to friends and loved ones as Donny, his untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all of us.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Donny grew up in Rochester, Illinois, where he graduated from high school after enjoying his times with the golf, baseball, and ice hockey teams. He continued his education in college and graduated with a business degree. He then embarked on a career in management positions for a national bookstore chain at various college campuses that took him across the country. His professional journey eventually led him to Statesboro, where he became a car sales professional and worked in multiple management roles over the last 12 years.
Donny had a radiant smile and ability to connect with others. He cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Kasey (Hight), and their two beautiful daughters, Tinley and Teagan, of Statesboro, GA; his brother, Andrew Berecz (Laurie, Bradley, Bennett) of Tampa, FL; his parents, Carol and Don Berecz of Statesboro, GA; his mother-in-law, Diana Hight of Tulsa, OK; his father-in-law, Todd Hight of Fredericksburg, VA; and his brother-in-law, Cameron Hight of Tempe, AZ. There are many other extended family members.
Donny was a member of Compassion Christian Church. A friends and family celebration of his life will be held in Statesboro, GA in early 2026.
