Donald Andrew Brooks, 86, of
Hampden, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center. Born in
Waterbury, Connecticut, on August 28, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Marie (Levesque) Brooks. Donald was a proud graduate of Crosby High School in Waterbury. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and proudly served in the United States Army. Donald dedicated 34 years of loyal service to ADT Alarm Company before his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and commitment to providing for his family. A true handyman at heart, Donald loved remodeling projects and could often be found happily puttering around his home, always working on something to make it just a little bit better. He took great pride in maintaining his home and creating a warm and welcoming place for those he loved. Above all, Donald's family was everything to him. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones especially camping in the family motorhome. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine M. (Desrosiers) Brooks of Hampden; his devoted daughter, Joyce Brooks of Hampden; and his cherished granddaughter, Stacy Lefebvre. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Stephan Gary Popavich, his niece Lisa Degennaro, along with several other nieces and nephews, as well as his son's best friend, Arthur Ferrara, his wife, Sharon and their kids, Nick Ferrara, Zach Ferrara, Isabelle Lynch and their families. Art and his entire family are still very much apart of our lives and is like an "adopted" son and brother to us. Donald was predeceased by his son, Donald Brooks, and his sister, Susan Popavich. All services and burial will be private at Donald's request. Arrangements have been entrusted to Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street,
