With heavy hearts and joyous memories, we celebrate the life of Donald Brian Compher, who passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on July 10, 1961, in Canton, Ohio, Donny lived his life filled with passion, laughter, and a love for all music that he enjoyed sharing with others, especially the unforgettable sounds of AC/DC. He'd be the first to teach and then challenge you to a game of music trivia.
Donny spent decades as a dedicated Special Olympic coach, pouring his heart into mentoring countless athletes and inspiring those around him. His commitment to the community and to those he coached was nothing short of remarkable and will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He worked as a material handler in the plastics industry at Little Tikes, where he was respected not just for his work ethic but also for the friendships he forged along the way.
Donny was preceded in death by his father Donald Compher and sister-in-law Toni Marino. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Doreen Compher, his devoted daughter Nikole Ball (Craig), grandchildren Cole and Carly, mother Sheila Compher, brother David Compher, sister Debra Coy (Jim), nephews Marc, Scott, and Matthew, niece Amanda, and his cuddle pups Izzie and Lexi.
Join us in honoring Donny's life at a celebration of his spirit on May 9, 2025, during calling hours and visitation at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON CHAPEL starting at 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. We invite you to return on May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM for an additional hour of visitation, leading up to the funeral service at 12:00 PM with Chaplain Sherry Ackerman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Stark Public Special Olympics c/o Randi Buhecker 1206 Locust St. S Canal Fulton Ohio, 44614"
As we gather to reflect on Don's incredible journey, let us share stories, laughter, and the music he loved. His legacy of kindness, enthusiasm, and rock 'n' roll spirit will live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, Donny, you will be missed, but not forgotten.

Branden and I would like to send deepest sympathy to Don's family and friends. It was a pleasure to be able coach with him at the Special Olympics. He was more than a coach he was a friend. There to help with everyone. Rest easy Don.

So saddened. Don and I have worked together for several years. We would always discuss our experiences with the Special Olympics and the Athletes.. was so proud of their accomplishments but so humble about his contributions to them. Truly a good Man. Condolences to his Family and those that had the pleasure of knowing him

Don was a bright spot many days when he would stop by the office to share a picture of his dogs and offer a smile. He will be missed, and I am truly sorry for our loss of a good person.
