Donald Ray "Don" Davis was born on September 1, 1937, in Whitewright, Texas. He was the son of Cornelius Davis and Roby Decker Davis. He grew up in the north Texas area and worked for Buick, Doran Chevrolet and Volkswagen and became quite an accomplished mechanic. He married Elizabeth Lowery in 1958, and they had five children, Gary, Larry, Beverly, Eddie and Billy.
In 1971, he married Becky Burnside. They moved to Wills Point in 1979 and opened a business, Country Car Care, in 1999. Don also farmed and raised cattle. They cherished the country life and loved having family and grandchildren visit.
Don passed away on August 30, 2024, at his home in Wills Point, Texas.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius "C.M." Davis and Ruby Davis; two wives, Elizabeth Lowery Davis and Rebecca Scott Davis; one brother, Raymond Davis; two sisters, Ella Mae Davis and Ellen Davis, and his daughter, Beverly Davis and a son, Eddy Davis.
Don is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Johnson of Plano, son, Garry Davis and wife, Cindy, granddaughters, Jennifer and Sabrina, a son, Larry Davis, granddaughter, Allie and grandson, Nick, great-granddaughter Lexi and a son William "Billy" Davis and wife, Swetlana and grandson, Vincent. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Susan Sledge, Lana Hughes and Kris Scott and four step grandchildren, Brandon Burnside, Jennifer Plemons, Erica Pomykal and Kevin Scott as well as eight step great grandchildren, Bethany, Bradley, Cooper, Max, Evie, Braxton, Aiden, Olivia and Oliver.
