Donald C. Dettlinger, Age 81, of Shaler Twp., Passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Beloved husband of Virginia (Bright) Dettlinger and the late Francine (Profozich) Dettlinger; loving father of Donald Stephen (Amy) Dettlinger; dear grandfather of Madison and MacKenzie Dettlinger; brother of Rose Harris and the late Jack Reese. Donald was a very proud retiree of the Air Force. He was a mechanic on the F-105 and loved that plane. He was an avid golfer as well, especially his hole-in-one. Don was a member of the Jockey Club in Etna for many years. Don and his wife would get in the car in the morning and just drive to unknown destinations. He loved to go for a ride and find a new place to eat. The real light of his life were his two granddaughters, Madison and MacKenzie. He will be greatly missed. Don worked at Pantone Lawn and Garden for many years until his retirement. He met so many people during this time. Don was a mechanic and could fix just about anything. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, where a service will be held at 7:30 PM. Burial will be on Wednesday at 1:30 PM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Shriners Hospital or St. Judes.
