Donald (Don) Herbert Dickson, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at Vista Harden Ranch Assisted Living in Salinas, California. He was 81 years old.

Don was born on March 2, 1944, in San Francisco, California. His childhood was filled with many moves, and he spent time living in Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and California. He attended Pomona High School in Pomona, California, where he was a proud member of the varsity football team, graduating with the Class of 1962

From 1965 to 1968, Don served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of sergeant. He remained deeply proud of his service and of his lifelong identity as a veteran.

Following his military service, Don built a successful career as a barber and professional men's hairstylist. He held barbering licenses in Colorado, California, and Oregon, and earned a reputation for his skill and professionalism. Don's career spanned more than 40 years.

For many years, Don and his beloved wife, Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Dickson, made their home in Beaverton, Oregon. They shared a devoted marriage until Bobbie's passing.

Don is survived by his brother Morris Patrick Dickson (Annette) of Salinas, California; nephews Andrew (Jenny) Dickson of Long Beach, California, and Peter (Jennifer) Dickson of Monterey, California; great-niece Lily; and great-nephews Peter, David, Benjamin, and Charles (Charlie). Don shared a particularly close bond with his brother Morris and took great pride in his family and their many accomplishments.

Faith, family, and friendship were central to Don's life. He loved gatherings filled with music, dancing, and laughter, and was always eager to share his beautiful singing voice. Holidays were especially meaningful to him, and he delighted in spreading joy as "Santa Claus" each Christmas at Vista Harden Ranch.

In addition to his beloved wife Bobbie, Don was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Aline Ferris Dickson and Donald Herbert Dickson, Sr.

Don will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his love for those around him. He will be deeply missed.
