Donald Charles Dockham, 68 of Rhodes, MI, passed away surrounded by his family on September 30, 2024, at Primrose of Midland. He was born in Midland, MI on March 8, 1956, to the late Charles and Wilhelmina (Solosky) Dockham.
Don worked for J.E. Johnson in skilled trades ranging from pipefitting, HVAC, and commercial refrigeration for chemical processes at Dow Chemical. He was always generous with time and helped his friends and neighbors with their projects using his technical skills and his 'never quit' attitude. He spent his free time outside in his garage and pole barn. Don was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Donald is survived by his sisters: Janet (Rodney) Draves, Laura Dockham; niece Hilary Ish; nephew Matthew (Janis) Brown; great niece Emerson Ish and great nephew Aricin Spencer-Scott. The family thanks the many individuals at Careline Hospice, Primrose memory care, friends Keith and Lori Ingling, the Rhodes Café gang, and Sam Vickey of Worth Automotive in Pinconning.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on October 4, 2024, at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Brown officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00pm – 7:00pm on October 3, 2024, at the funeral home and from 10:00 am until time of service on Friday. A private graveside service will take place immediately following the service at the funeral home.
