Donald Loyd Dozier, 82, of Buffalo, Texas passed away on June 28, 2025, in Centerville, Texas. He was born on January 15, 1943, in Waco, Texas to Minnie Mae and Herbert Lee Dozier, Sr.
Donald's career as a prison guard at the Boyd Unit marked a significant chapter in his life. In addition to his work in criminal justice, Donald owned and ran Buffalo Auto Supply for many years. The store became a haven for community connection, where friends and strangers alike would come to share stories, laughter, and, of course, Donald's unforgettable jokes. His warmth and genuine interest in the lives of others created lasting bonds and fond memories for many. He was known not only for his dedication but also for his compassion. Colleagues and customers recognized his heart of gold and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emily Dozier; grandson, Robbie Ansley, brothers, David Dozier and Herbert Lee Dozier, Jr.; and son-in-law, Kenieth Young. Donald is survived by his daughter, Jodi Ansley; granddaughters, Rachael Ansley and Kelsey Ansley; and numerous extended family.
He will be greatly missed!
