Donald Ray Duplechin, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025 in his home with his family at his bedside. He was born on September 23, 1948, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Dennis Duplechin and Nelma Thibodeaux Duplechin.

Donald lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a paper boy for the Lake Charles American Press. He worked in construction for many years, and later finished his working career as a truck driver for L&L Oil and Environmental Co.

He was a collector of various things, including antique cars, and he enjoyed fishing. Donald truly enjoyed sharing daily meals with other widowers at Southern Spice. Above all, he deeply loved his family, especially his beloved Jean, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for "bebopping around," and brightening the room wherever he went. Gone, but never forgotten. His memory will live in our hearts forever.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his daughters, Jeannie Daigle, and Dena Watson (Mac); his grandchildren, Kris Daigle, Eric Watson, and Joshua Watson (Hallie); nine great grandchildren; his siblings, Gerturde Vidrine, Eddie Duplechin and Robert Duplechin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Nora Jean Duplechin; and his parents.

Mr. Duplechin's funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Rev. Gus Rodrigue will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
