Mary, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 13, 2025 peacefully at her daughter's residence. She was born on March 22, 1942, in Gueydan LA to Odile Mathieu Dronett and Horace Kibodeaux. Mary was of the Catholic Faith.
She will be remembered for always being the caretaker for many people, including neighbors, friends, and family members. She will be missed dearly be may that have come to know her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Collettia Giroir (Sam), Veronica Martin (Ray), Antoinette "Sue" Seal, Kevin Deshotels, and Katrina Deshotels; her sisters, Linda Lopez and Lori Bonner; brothers, David Kibodeaux and Paul Kibodeaux; six grandchildren; Michelle Shumaker (Aaron), Pierre Savant II, Jason Savant (Kay), Thomas Seal (Kim), Amanda Martin, and Bridget Deshotels, Eleven great grandchildren, and Two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of fourteen years, Joseph Ronald Deshotels, her parents, her sisters Wanda Hargrove, Sandra Walker, Lana Kyeer, and Virgina Kibodeaux; brothers Patrick Kibodeaux and Anthony Kibodeaux; and stepmother Duna May Kibodeaux and Stepfather Lee Dronett.
A Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Father Matthew Cormier will serve as the celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:00am on Thursday, with a rosary being recited at 11:00am and service immediately after. Burial to follow at Orange Grove Cemetery on Broad Street.
Serving as pall bearers will be Jason Savant, Pierre Martin II, Bridget Deshotels, and Mason Martin.
The family would like to thank her son, Kevin, her long-time friend Linda Campbell, and Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
