Donald Eichler Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 1, 2024.
With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Donald Gary "Don" Eichler, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who peacefully left this world on March 21, 2024. Don was born on March 3, 1951, in Long Beach, California to Carlysle John Eichler and Jeanette Nadine Green. His stepfather, Kermit Leon Howell, became his best buddy over the years. His journey led him to touch many lives through both Arkansas and Oklahoma before making Edmond, OK, his cherished home in 1991.
On February 16, 1979, Don married the love of his life, Lori Jean Garringer. Their union blossomed into 45 years of true love and laughter, culminating in a large and loving family that brought them immeasurable joy and pride.
Don pursued his passion for knowledge at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Physics, but over the years, he became a Sooner fan by heart. His love for learning was matched only by his zest for life, evident in the countless shenanigans he shared with his brothers and sisters.
A man of many talents and interests, Don found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He adored spending time with his family, engaging in spirited card games, and exploring the great outdoors through boating, skiing, and adventures around the globe alongside his beloved wife, Lori, and their cherished friends from Casinos International.
His commitment to faith was unwavering, and Don was a proud member of the Lighthouse Lutheran Church, where his kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. He dedicated his time and energy to serving his community, holding roles such as Secretary/Treasurer of the Oklahoma Inventors Association, Sergeant at Arms for the Manufactured Housing Association of Oklahoma, and an active member of the Optimist Club in Sallisaw, OK.
Throughout his illustrious career, Don's innovative spirit led him to remarkable achievements, earning him prestigious accolades such as the "Innovator of the Year" Award from the Journal Record in 2010. As the president of Mobil-Real Corporation, owner of Homes To Go, and the visionary behind the Eichler Valve Co., his legacy of ingenuity will endure for generations to come.
Above all, Don will be remembered for his unwavering love for God and his family. His infectious smile, warm heart, and uplifting words touched the souls of all who knew him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories and hearts of those he leaves behind.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandchildren, Bentley and Paisley Evans. Don is survived by his loving wife Lori, their children and spouses: Donnie Eichler and wife Christy of Edmond, OK, Bobby Eichler and wife Kelly of Rogers, AR, Bryan Eichler and wife Milynda of Edmond, OK, Jackee Evans and husband Nathan of Guthrie, OK, Chelsea Guy and husband Cobey of Cypress, TX, Jared Eichler and wife Sierra of Fort Worth, TX; brothers: David Eichler and wife Sharon of Hot Springs, AR, Ken Eichler and wife Leslie of Fort Mill, SC and sisters: Kathy Lavender and husband Jerry of Rogers, AR; Debbie Latture and husband Tony of Bentonville, AR, Molly Price and husband Greg of Tennessee and Reenie Martinez of Texas. Don also leaves behind his beloved and cherished 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Don Eichler's life will be celebrated in a Memorial Celebration to be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 4 p.m. at the Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lighthouse Lutheran Church, PO Box 1379 Edmond, OK 73034 https://give.mogiv.com/app/giving/Ligh9999132 in honor of Don's memory.
As we bid farewell to Don, we take solace in knowing that his legacy of love, kindness, and innovation will live on forever.
