Donald E. Fleming

Mr. Donald E. Fleming, 90, passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 20, 2025 after a short illness). Mr. Fleming was born on June 24, 1935 to Herbert and Leola (Mahoney) Fleming in Oklahoma City. He attended Chickasha Public Schools and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1953.

After High School, he attended and received various degrees from several universities. He obtained the B.B.A. (1957) and M.B.A. (1963) degrees from the University of Oklahoma and the D.B.A. degree from Texas Tech University in 1974. During a long teaching career of 35 years, Dr. Fleming was a Professor of Finance (and Economics) and Department Chairman of several universities. He was a member of the Faculty at Texas A&I University, Kingsville, Texas, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas and the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma. He retired from UCO in Edmond in 1998. While teaching at these universities, he greatly influenced the lives and careers of his many students (young and old).

During his adult life, Mr. Fleming had many special interests. He was devoted to his family and his church and he enjoyed travelling around the world, playing bridge, attending OU Sooner football games, and participating in various community social, cultural and entertainment events. Mr. Fleming was a member of Sigma Chi Social Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Scholastic Business Fraternity, Phi Alpha Kappa Honorary Finance Fraternity, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Siloam Masonic Lodge #276 of Oklahoma City, and the Scottish Rite Temple of Guthrie. Mr. Fleming was a long-time member of First Christian Church of Oklahoma City. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 - 1960.

Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by several cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 10 to 5 pm at Smith & Kernke N. May Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Friday Dec. 26 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in OKC. Memorial Services will be conducted at Epworth Villa in the Brill Chapel, at 2:00 PM on Friday Dec. 26, 2025 with the Reverend John Malget officiating.
