Donald Ray "Donnie" Flowers

Donald "Donnie" Ray Flowers passed away on January 27, 2022.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. He was born on February 5, 1956. Donald was the youngest of 3 children in the Union of Emma and Melvin Flowers. He attended Akron Buchtel High school. Donald loved to cook and would always criticize the food of different restaurants that he would go to, but he still ate it, that's a cook for you. He also loved playing the lottery. Donald was employed by Alpha Phi Alpha Corp. of Akron, Ohio. He also worked at numerous other places where he was employed as a cook.

He is preceded in death by parents, Melvin and Emma Flowers; grandparents, Florence and Henry Matthews and John (Irene) Flowers; brothers, James Flowers and Robert Flowers and nephew, Jason (Bailey) Jones.
He also leaves to cherish his memories brother, Melvin flowers, sisters, June (Steven) Franklin of Akron, Brenda Miller of Connecticut and Kim Crandall of Akron; nephews, Chucky Flowers, Anthony Flowers, Darnell Griffin, Tyrone Barclay and Melvin Curtis McCullum; nieces, Talaya (Ron) Buckner, Dionne D. Flowers, Adrianne (Jonathan) Ellis and Jessica Richardson; uncle, John (Kathy) Matthews; aunts, Shirley Matthews and Alverna Matthews and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins. Special friend and family member, Debbie Davis.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at New Hope Baptist Church, 1706 Hawkins Ave Akron, Ohio 44320. Funeral services will immediately follow and will be live streamed at sommervillefuneralservice.com Pastor David Nelson, officiating his celebration.
