Jerry Averil Flowers

Jerry Averil Flowers 84 of Charlotte, N.C. formally Fayetteville, West Viriginia and Bluffton, SC passed away at home on October 29,2025.

Jerry went to Nitro High school where he played football and was chosen to attend a gathering In Washington DC as future business leaders of America. He attended Marshall University, and later went to school for Insurance. He pursued insurance and acquire agencies in Montgomery, Fayetteville, Oak Hill, and Summersville WV. He was part owner of WV insurance Schools in Cross Lanes WV. After selling his half of the business, continued on as teacher and book writer for the school. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed taking his wife (Judith Board) of 59 years on cruises to different countries around the Globe. In his younger years he enjoyed wood working, restoring automobiles. He gave his Children the gift of camping, Ocean visits and Visting Historical destination of the past. He instilled a work ethic, pride of helping people and always doing your best. Jerry could play the piano and guitar but could not read a lick of music. He could sing and loved to dance.

Preceded in death were his parents, Mayford "Bud" and Josephine "Jo" Flowers and a great grandchild Timothy Reed Averil Hall.

Cherishing his memory are: Jeffery Flowers (Joanna) of California, Tammy Hiebert (Larry) of West Virginia, Kelly Otis (Paul) of California, Stephanie Nataile (Don) of North Carolina. Grandchildren: Nicolas (Isabel) and Jake Flowers, Kenneth III(Shealee) and Garron Gillespie, Tara Hall (Nick), Chelsey Otis, Chandler Posey (Thomas), Mackenzie and Blake Natalie, Jerry also had nine great grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, Nov 21st at 11am at Heritage Funeral Home, Ballantyne Chapel.
