Donald Lee Floyd, "Butch", age 81, died at Kobacker House surrounded by family on Thursday morning July 17, 2025. He was born June 1, 1944, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Donald E. and Charlotte G. Floyd (Casias). Donald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Birtie, who was an exceptional care giver since 1987; children, Donald (Susan) Lee Floyd III, Angela (Carlo) Marino; grandchildren, Kristin (Alex) Dinovo, Michael (Monica) Marino, Steven Marino, Anthony Marino; great-grandchildren, Alle, Olivia, Aubrie, Michael, Elissa, Nicholas, Isabella; as well as other extended family and friends.
Donald was a graduate of North High School Linden-McKinley and completed a 5-year apprenticeship as a machinist. He worked for Western Electric as a tool and die maker from 1964 to 1976. He also worked selling antiques in a shop in New Albany. Later he began selling handmade quilts at numerous marts across the country earning him the nickname "The Quilt Man". Donald's hobbies included playing Texas Hold'em as a ranked World Series of Poker Player, fishing, hunting, vintage muscle cars, and drag racing. He enjoyed family gatherings, and eating fresh produce grown in his garden. He was a former President of the Central Ohio Bottle Club and a member of the infamous Stonehill Skinners.

Donald struggled for years with congestive heart failure and endured countless procedures and therapies at the Cleveland Clinic. His faith in God, amazing providers and cutting-edge therapies allowed him to live a relatively normal life well beyond what most expected.
