In memory of Our Beloved Father
Donald Joseph Fridley, who was born on November 12, 1936, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 15, 2025, at the age of 89. Donald is loved as a husband, father, grandfather & friend.
Donald was born in New Iberia, Louisiana, Iberia Parish County. The eighth child of Leonard and Martha Fridley. He was born during the depression era and understood he need for hard work and determination.
Donald was a career U.S. Army soldier and retired as a Master Sergeant. He volunteered for two different tours during the Vietnam conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star on two different occasions for his service to his country.
In 1958, he found and married the love of his life, his beloved wife Chong Sun. They settled in San Antonio, Texas, where they raised their 5 children. Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Chong Sun Fridley. His parents, Leonard Sheridan & Martha Dugas Fridley; his brothers and sisters, Tom, Mary, Lloyd, Allen, Heloise (Billy), Natalie, Howard, and Larry.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Susan Leigh Fridley Abrego,& Husband Victor. Sons: Michael Keith, Stephen Kent & Wife Colleen, Kerry Dean, Richard Seth & Wife Suzanne. Grandchildren, Bryan, Tessa, Meghan, Sam, Kyle, Nikolas, Joshua & Chelsea. Great Grandchildren: Ambrosia, Kalena, Ezra, Kinsley & Amora. Sister: June Fridley LaBauve; Sister-in-law: Yang Sun & husband Ricky Mullins; Nieces: Leslie & husband Mark Christian, grandniece Anna & grandnephew Ty Christian.
Pallbearers: Michael, Stephen, Kerry, Richard, Bryan, Sam
