Donald Haddock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home - Selbyville on May 27, 2025.
Donald Wayne Haddock Sr., age 72, of Willards, MD, passed away at home on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was born in Greenville, NC, and was the son of the late William Haddock and Bessie (Moore) Haddock.
Donald moved from Farmville, NC, to Beltsville, MD, as a child. A graduate of High Point High School, Class of 1970, he went on to take over his family's auto shop business, Cherry Motors. In 1974, Donald met a single mother, Deborah Wright. He embraced the role of stepfather to her daughter, Kimberly, and later had a son, Donald Jr., with Deborah. The couple married soon after.
In 1992, Donald moved his family to Willards, MD, after purchasing a home and selling the auto shop a few years later. In 1998, he began working as a mechanic for Perdue Farms, where he remained until retiring in 2023. Following his retirement, he and his son opened the Delmar Flea Market, which he continued to operate. Although he and Deborah divorced in the early 2000s, they grew close again toward the end of her life in 2007.
Donald is survived by three granddaughters: Savannah Annalee Haddock of Ocean City, MD, and Paige and Grace Mandeville of Bethesda, MD; his nephew, Bryant Haddock of Dumfries, VA; great-niece, Amber Harrold of Seaford, DE; and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Wayne Haddock Jr.; stepdaughter, Kimberly Rinehart; brother, Bryant Haddock; and former wife, Deborah Wright Haddock.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday May 28, 2025 at New Hope Cemetery in Willards.
