Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Alma Hammes. Son in law, Steven Foley.
Survived by his beloved wife, Mary Hammes. Children, Karen McGrath, Kathy (Jay) Dietz , Cheryl (Pat) Cunningham, Douglas (Amy) Hanson, Michael (Michelle) Hammes, & Colleen (Mike) Jodoin; grandchildren, Amber (Larry) Peshkin, Jeremy (Katie) Vaughn, Alec (Cassandra) Vaughn, Katie (Ben) Goldberg, & Michael Hammes, Maggie Hanson; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Liam, Owen, Ellie, Avery, Wit, & Jaxson. His dogs, Princess and Daisy.
Don “The Don” was an avid boater with a heart of gold. Family & friends were his life. Always there to help be it family, friends or strangers. A partner in crime with his wife Mary for over 42yrs. When telling a story you’d find yourself in the moment anticipating his ending. Don was a great husband, father, father in law ,and most of all, a true friend. Our lives won’t be the same without him. We love you.
