Donald Dean Hansen, born on June 2, 1935 in Elwood Nebraska passed away on July 23, 2025, at his home in St. Charles, Mo. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, charity and church involvement. He was a respected and cherished member of his family and the church he embraced wholeheartedly throughout his life.

Donald helped run his family gas station until he was drafted into the army as an MP. After the army, he went to work for the Corps of Engineers until his retirement. Don then began his own maintenance business that he continued well into his 70's.

Donald was a devoted father to his two daughters, Sheri (Greg) and Gina (Rick) Huffman. His seven grandchildren, Justin (Liz) Hansen, Jessica (Matt) Smith, Russell (Caitlyn) Simons, Ryan (Alison) Glenn, David (Jocelyn) Simons, Cheyenne Huffman, and Christian Huffman, along with his fourteen great-grandchildren and two on the way. He enjoyed every minute he spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Herbert Hansen, and mother, Elizabeth DeBoer. Donald also had 5 siblings who have passed on: Althea (Carroll) Schroeder, Lowell (Inez) Hansen, Lola (Bill) Debban, Howard (Winnie) Hansen, and Dorothy (Ernie) Fiene. He was the baby boy in the family and remained close with all his siblings until their passing.

A man of deep faith, Donald was extremely involved in his church, where he sang in the choir and imparted knowledge as a Sunday school teacher. His faith in God was unwavering and unapologetic. His dedication to serving others was evident in all aspects of his life. He participated in many outreach programs and charitable organizations. He could fix anything and enjoyed inventing gadgets. If you described to him something you needed, he would make it for you.

Donald was passionate about birds, card games, dominoes, and especially football. He never missed a game and usually watched multiple games at once. He had a great sense of humor and appreciated a good practical joke.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, on August 29, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by the funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM.
