Mr. Donald ‘Donnie’ Edward Henry Jr., age 71 of Middleburg, FL, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital. Graveside services for Mr. Henry will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11AM at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Kenton, with burial to immediately follow.
Donnie was born April 8, 1953, in Dyer, TN; the son of the late Donald Edward & Dora Elizabeth (Williams) Henry. He was a retired corrections officer with the Florida Department of Corrections – Lake City; along with serving his community as a police officer, firefighter, and Mason; and was of the Catholic faith. He served his country twenty plus years with the US Navy, serving in Vietnam, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. Military honors will be observed.
Mr. Henry is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Henry; two children, Shawn Henry (Heather), Lisa Foster (Donald); sister, Martha Jane Malone (Jim); brother, James William ‘JW’ Henry; and seven grandchildren, Caleb Henry, Jacob Foster, Nathan Foster, Kaylee Foster, Drew Foster, Delilah Foster, and Liam Biddle.
The family will receive friends from 5PM-8PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Donald ‘Donnie’ Edward Henry Jr.
