John E. Henry Jr., 71 of Kent, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 in the comfort of his home, with his family by his side. He was born on March 3, 1954 to the late John Sr. and Irene Henry and was a 1972 graduate of Kent State High School.
John was employed as chief engineer at Colonial Machine, retiring after 46 years of employment. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hiking, biking, canoeing and photography. He was a member of Freedom Hill Community Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling and baseball. John was an associate pastor at Church on the Boulevard and will always be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Henry.
John is survived by his loving wife Marianne; children, Audrey (Shaun Stiwald) Henry, Annette (Chad) Coy and John E. Henry III; grandchildren, Zeek (Isabel) Henry, Atticus Henry and Eric Henry; sisters, Virginia Maruschak and Jeanne Smith; and special niece Lyndley Corley.
In honoring his wishes, John will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Freedom Hill Community Church, 3943 Fishcreek Rd. Stow, OH 44224 with Pastor Mark Jones officiating.
