"Together Again"
Donald E. Hostetler went to his heavenly home on May 9, 2025, after a period of declining health. He was born on March 22, 1930, in Dalton, Ohio to, the late, Mahlon W. and Blanche (Martin) Hostetler. His beloved wife, Sara, passed on September 4, 2024. They were married on June 12, 1954, and enjoyed 70 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, Gary (Brenda) Hostetler, Lisa (Jim) Tedrick, Laura (Tom) Martin, and Paul (Sherilyn) Hostetler; grandchildren, Bethany (Chris) Arthur, Andrew and Dani Martin, Yarik and Irina Hostetler; sister, Louise Hutchinson; brother, Wade Hostetler; and many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948 and was a union carpenter for over 40 years.
Don's heart of generosity was evident in his faithful care for others. He retired at age 60 and spent many years delivering Meals on Wheels, caring for his parents, volunteering on mission trips, and supporting missionaries financially and in regular, thoughtful correspondence. He and Sara enjoyed many trips in the US and Europe. He was a long-time member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club and enjoyed daily walks for many years at Reservoir Park in Massillon, where he and his friends solved all of the world's problems. He faithfully put words of wisdom and scripture on the sign at Whipple Avenue Baptist church in the 1960s and 1970s and went on to serve in various capacities at The Chapel for over 40 years. The family wishes to thank the Inn at Belden Village and Absolute Hospice staff for their outstanding care.
