Donald Clayton Hughes

Mr. Donald Clayton Hughes, age 70 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025. He was born on June 28, 1955, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late William Leonard Hughes and Missouri Bertie Handy Hughes. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Garland Hughes, Gilmer Hughes, and Marvin Hughes. Donald loved playing his guitar, singing, and reading his Bible. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Lynda Gayl Lawson Hughes of Stuart; one son, Herbert Tommy Pack; two daughters, Tina Gail Hughes (Kirby), Donita Hughes Mitchell (Roger); three grandchildren, Dustin MaClay Scott (Cheyanne), Dayton Thomas Pack, Brystol Kaelyn Pack; two great grandchildren, Ivory Rose Scott, Eden Lilly Scott; two brothers, Melvin Hughes (Elaine), Alvin Hughes (Jean); one sister, Sylvia Smith (James), several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Stormy.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Snow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor David Heath officiating.
