Donald Eugene Kiger
August 31, 1943 to February 16, 2025
Don was in the United States Air Force and worked for Newark Air Force Base for over thirty years. He was passionate of his faithful service of freemasonry of the Masonic Lodge for 45 years. His other memberships included Scottish rights, Moose Lodge, the Eastern Star, Fraternal Order of Eagles, AMVETS, American Legion, YMCA, Mound City Little League, and North Newark. He also coached over 35 years for football, baseball, and basketball. He retired and moved to Arcadia Florida in June 2007. His hobbies included going boating at Lake Cumberland KY, yard sales and the movies, playing cards, doing search word puzzles, and being an avid cruise ship traveler.
He was born to the late Anda and Agnes (Price) Kiger in Newark, Ohio. He was the proud father of Rodney (Staci) Kiger, Nicholas (Misty) Kiger, Patrick (Jessica) Kiger, and stepfather to Gene Church and Michele Church.
He joins his heavenly family: Sister Carol Winkie, Brother in Laws Albert Winkie and Charlie Shaffer. He is survived by Sister Saundra Shaffer, Wife Melody Kiger, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A special thanks to Judy (Orville) and Melissa Kiger for many years of friendship, adventure, and support.
There will be no funeral services but will be holding a Masonic and Easter Star memorial service in Arcadia, FL at 909 NE Oak Street on March 7* at 1:00 pm. There will be a Military service in Ohio at a later date.
