Donald Luhm Obituary

Donald C. Luhm, age 79 of Eau Claire, passed away at Mayo Clinic.

Donald was born September 16, 1945 to Frank and Lillian Luhm. He attended St. James grade school and graduated from Memorial High School in 1965.

After graduating, he joined the United States Army. After being discharged he came back to live in Eau Claire.

Donald worked at the Eau Claire County Courthouse for 32 years and in that time, married Shirley Phillips on June 20, 1994 and stayed married for 30 years. After retiring at 58, Don enjoyed fishing at Lake Hallie, golfing with his good friends Al and Fred, and hunting for antiques to sell on eBay. He liked to feed the birds and even put a feeder on the window for the cat to watch the birds. He would be ready to chase the squirrels away when they showed up to feed too.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was known for his good sense of humor. He was fun to be around, we will all miss him.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurse at the Mayo Clinic for taking such good care of Don.

He is survived by his wife, brother James (Lana) Luhm; stepchildren Chris (Tracy) and Andrew (Kathy) Phillips; grandchildren Devin, Tals, Chloe, Alexis, Julia, and Blake.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daniel, Steven and David Luhm, and sister Rosemary Bandoli.
