Donald H. Marmet, 97, of Altoona, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Altoona Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Altoona.
A graveside service for Don will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Pilot Mound Cemetery in rural Pilot Mound, Iowa, with Graveside Military Honors conducted by the Boone Veterans Council.
Donald Hugh Marmet, son of Alvin and Angeline (Fjelland) Marmet was born on December 30, 1927, in Alleman, Iowa. During WWII, Don served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 on the USS Horace Mann.
He was a brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.
